Directions:  From Chester , S.C. , take Hwy 72 South approximately 2 miles to Chester State Park (entrance is on the left).  Enter the State Park and follow the main access road all the way to the parking area at the end of the road. After the parking area as you loop back to the entrance road, look for the "Archery Range" sign on the right.  Turn and follow the gravel road to the shelter.

SHOOTING RULES 

New 2012 rules are highlighted in red.

 

No maximum draw weight, maximum arrow speed is 280 feet per second with a 3% tolerance (except Outlaw Class which has no speed limit). This may be checked at any time during the shoot. Anyone exceeding 288 feet per second will be subject to disqualification.

Groups will consist of not less than 3 and not more than 6 adults. There will be two scorekeepers in each group.

Each shooter will be issued two score cards, both score cards must be completed and turned in. If two completed score cards are not turned in, the score will not count.

Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Before daylight savings time, score cards must be turned in no later than 5:00 p.m. in order to be counted.

After daylight savings time, score cards must be turned in no later than 6:00 p.m. in order to be counted.

No archer is allowed to shoot alone or more than one round or in more than one class for score.

No alcoholic beverage will be allowed on the tournament grounds at anytime.

Archers must touch the stake with some part of his/her body during the shot.

No range finders are allowed on the range, binoculars are allowed, but may be checked.

After the shot, no archer may glass the target while remaining on the stake.

All bows must be hand drawn and hand held (release aids are permitted in some classes), with no additional support.

A dropped arrow, is one which falls from the string in preparation for the shot or during an announced let down. A dropped arrow may be re-shot. A let down must be verbally announced prior to let down. Any arrow which is propelled by the string, is considered shot and is scored unless it was an announced let down.

One group shall not hold up the following groups while looking for lost arrows.

All tournaments will include 25 shoots.

Clubs will designate whether center (IBO) or lower (ASA) 12 rings will be scored for each tournament. Clubs will clearly communicate to all shooters which scoring ring is to be scored either at registration or at each target.  

Known yardage distances will be marked for each target on a card at the target.  The card will be posted in a fashion that it cannot be viewed by anyone other than known yardage shooters.

Known yardage class shooters will shot last in each group.

Known yardage shooters shall not communicate target yardage to anyone on the course at anytime.

Anyone other than know yardage shooters who look at the target distance card will be disqualified.
